Cerakote

Cerakote is a ceramic-based coating applied thin and cured hard. It resists scratches, sweat, and corrosion, and unlike paint or powder coat it does not chip or crack off at the edges. It is also available in nearly any color, which is why it lives in the Custom Shop: it can be matched to a one-off build and still hold up to regular playing. If a color is not listed, the Custom Shop can mix it.

Under the finish it is the same billet 6061 bar and string-locking design as the rest of the line, the world's first string-locking tailpiece. The string is run in reverse, seated at the tuning post and locked at the bar under a set screw, so there is no winding around the post. That removes the slowest step of a restring and reduces the time by up to 75%.

Because the string locks at the bar instead of coiling around the post, it does not slip while you tune and holds through bends and hard playing. It is a direct drop-in on two-stud, top-mount guitars, with no routing or modification.
